When you go into the Upload/Create menu in Content, you may see an option entitled “Video or Audio.” This allows you to upload a video or audio file directly to Brightspace, using Brightspace’s native, built-in media tools. We do not recommend the use of these tools. Brightspace’s native media player has issues with playback for users with slower connections, and is not generally considered as accessible as other options.
Instead, we recommend you use Langara’s integrated Kaltura MediaSpace service, both in Brightspace or in your other online teaching environments. Kaltura is more accessible, and has the ability to change playback rate and file size based on a user’s Internet speed, meaning better, more reliable playback.
