Minimal Design At Makerspace

Innovative Minimalist Design Boosts Efficiency in Makerspace’s How To Document Holders

As our Makerspace’s ever-expanding collection of “How-To” manuals continues to grow, the need for additional storage solutions has become increasingly apparent. Previous iterations of manual holders—crafted from either plywood or Plexiglas—proved to be resource-intensive, requiring significant material and labor investment.

In alignment with our commitment to sustainability and efficient design, we revisited our approach with a focus on upcycling, minimalism, and responsible resource use. The latest solution emerged from a simple yet elegant concept: a streamlined plywood base paired with reshaped PVC rods, repurposed from leftover materials at home.

The result is a visually striking and highly functional holder that meets our storage needs while drastically reducing material consumption and fabrication time. This design marks a significant step forward in our pursuit of eco-conscious, scalable solutions within the Makerspace.
