Compare the tools
There are many different software available for peer assessment. Compare the main features among the current peer assessment tools we suggest for student peer assessment at Langara. You can also read about and see some examples of peer assessment tools in our Peer Assessment blog post.
See below for the Strengths and Limitations of each tool.
Aropä
Note: Aropa will be discontinued on July 1st, 2024.
Strengths
- Student identities can be anonymized.
- Option to randomly or manually assign work for each peer, assign by the same or different tags or by groups.
- Feedback can include contextual comments. Rubric can be customized.
- Aggregated and individual marks for each student from reviewers can be downloaded in Excel.
- Feedback from peers can be assessed, in the form of comments and reviews.
Limitations
- Students cannot annotate work directly.
- No grades automatically sent to the Brightspace Gradebook; grades must be added manually.

- Requires students to have high digital literacy in order for students to successfully save their fillable PDF.
- PDFs need to be digitally submitted to instructor through Brightspace Assignments and manually downloaded.
