The Educational Technology department supports Langara’s faculty and instructional staff design, develop, and deliver technology-enhanced teaching and learning. EdTech facilitates the adoption and use of innovative, practical technologies.

Have a technical question about Brightspace, Kaltura MediaSpace, Zoom or another supported tool? Email us at edtech@langara.ca, or drop in with an EdTech Support Specialist on Zoom (https://langara.zoom.us/j/langara.edtech to get the answer. Or, stop by our offices on the 2nd Floor, North Tower of the C Building to get some in-person assistance.

Who We Are

EdTech Support Specialists

Support Specialists assist faculty and instructional employees with technical questions relating to the use of educational technologies in courses. They also test, troubleshoot, and administer Langara’s educational technology tools and pilot proposed new tools, applications, and platforms prior to adoption. Contact them at edtech@langara.ca.

EdTech Advisors

EdTech Advisors assist faculty and instructional employees in the development and delivery of technology-enhanced courses and the adoption of new instructional technologies. They also work with individual departments to customize training for their specific instructional goals. In addition, advisors investigate and test educational technology options. All advisors have post secondary teaching backgrounds along with knowledge of and skills in instructional design, educational technology, distance learning and computing. Contact an Advisor to set-up a one-on-one meeting.

Learning Technologist

Langara’s Learning Technologist supports faculty and instructional staff in the design and implementation of effective and engaging online and blended learning experiences for students. Our LT has expertise in established and emergent learning technologies with best practices in instructional and learning design, and digital pedagogy.

Technical Media Producer

The Technical Media Producer assists faculty and instructional employees in developing media and integrating it into their teaching and other academic work as well as assisting in the development of solutions to unique, media-related instructional challenges.

Instructional Materials Designer

The Instructional Materials Designer brings a wealth of experience and expertise, using multiple conventional and emerging technologies to develop instructional materials for EdTech and supports EdTech Advisors to create and provide advice on teaching and learning materials.

Assistive Technologist

The Assistive Technologist is a unique position, supporting student users of assistive technologies and offering accessibility support to all college members.
