Teaching & Learning Materials

Recently, the Copyright Modernization Act came into effect resulting in significant changes to the user rights available for educational purposes.

All third-party print and digital teaching and learning materials, including handouts, D2L, and courseware content, must be re-evaluated to ensure that the amount copied or scanned falls within current guidelines. In some cases, permission and payment may be required.

As always, copyright staff are available to help you review all materials and seek permission when necessary.

The Bookstore’s deadline for ordering courseware for the fall has passed. While we will continue to process requests, be aware that we may not be able to secure all copyright clearances for the start of term.

Visit Langara’s copyright website for current guidelines and a variety of tools.
