The Chronicle of Higher Education keeps you informed about the issues facing higher education. Published every weekday, with several newsletters and expert-written blogs, The Chronicle is one of the leading sources of news, advice, and jobs for people in academe–very useful to any Langara employee!
Administrators may already be familiar with the value of The Chronicle for their work–but did you know the Library’s subscription allows you to view the full contents of each issue online, including premium content? Simply connect to the Chronicle website from the Library link! Once there you can set up newsletter alerts and RSS feeds for a variety of useful topics. If off campus, you’ll need to log in using your Langara ID to access premium content.
Instructors will also find great value in The Chronicle. The blogs in particular give solid treatment to a number of pedagogical and instructional topics like:
- Wired Campus – the latest on tech and education, with additional discussion of non-tech issues like teaching, marking and collegiality
- Lingua Franca – Language and Writing in Academe
- Percolator – Research that matters
