Educators have been abruptly ushered into the era of AI in the classroom with the most recent release of ChatGPT. This artificial intelligence (AI) app, available freely online, is capable of generating novel complex written text including essays, poems, and computer code.

In this open forum, we will bring together faculty from KPU and snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ Langara to explore the capabilities of ChatGPT and similar AI platforms, discuss some of the implications of these technologies, and share ideas on how we might use this and other AI to enhance learning. This forum is meant to give shape to the emerging conversations around this new technology, so considerable time will be dedicated to discussion and debate.
