Podcasting offers a unique medium to create and deliver content compellingly and accessibly, allowing educators to reach students not just in the classroom but anywhere at any time. This format supports multiple means of communication, action and expression, encourages self-paced learning, and can make complex topics more approachable and interesting.
In this session we will look at what podcasting is, why it has become a popular technology in education and what you need to get started as a podcaster. By the end of the workshop, you will script, record, and edit a 5-minute podcast episode. We will discuss a workflow for sharing a series of podcast episodes with your students.
The workshop will take place in the EdTech Studio, C214. You will have access to professional podcasting equipment and experienced facilitators to guide you. Please bring a laptop to this session if you have access to one (we will only have a small number available) and, ideally, a pair of wired/USB headphones.
Note: All Digital Media Creator series attendees must have completed the prerequisite, Digital Media Creator Module 1, before participating in this session (or have already taken it in a previous year).
