Langara’s website is run on a Content Management System (CMS) called Cascade, which allows trained faculty and staff to easily publish and share content. It is simple to use, accessible anywhere, and helps maintain a common look and feel across our official webpages.
Who should edit your webpages?
It is up to the organizational lead of each unit to designate content editors for your program/department’s webpages. We recommend training two people per area. This role is best suited for people who have strong writing skills, basic knowledge of web publishing (ie. blogging, social media, web applications, etc.), and a strong pulse on the department’s activities. Content editors will be expected to edit existing pages, create new pages, add images, update photo galleries, and more. While you don’t need to have any knowledge of programming or HTML, familiarity of online publishing is strongly recommended.
