TCDC Curriculum Series: Program Learning Outcomes (TCDC Event)

Has your department recently finished your program review self-study and action plan? Are you and your colleagues ready to get started on reviewing your curriculum and finally getting the chance (and the support) to make those changes you’ve been wanting to get to for ages?

TCDC is here to help! Join us for our Program Learning Outcomes workshop on October 12, 1:00pm to 2:30pm.

In this hands-on online session, we explore what program learning outcomes (PLOs) are, why they’re necessary for effective curriculum design and how to go about creating or revising them. After reviewing several well-written PLOs from different Langara programs and working with colleagues to revise some not-so-hot PLOs provided by the facilitators, you’ll leave this session ready to get started on writing your own.

After participating in this workshop, you will be able to:

• explain what program learning outcomes are.
• discuss how they are used in program development, assessment and renewal.
• outline the steps for writing clear, measurable, learner-centred program learning outcomes.
