CANCELLED: Sustainability, Circularity and Emergent Opportunity: Makerspaces and Positive Change

This session was previously offered as part of the Mini-Conference 2023. As many expressed that they missed the opportunity to attend, TCDC reached out to the presenters and helped organize an encore. TCDC is grateful to the presenters for agreeing to deliver the session again to reach more of the Langara community.

Sustainability is an enormous, complex and somewhat slippery subject. What does it actually mean? How is it put into practice? Are there other alternatives? Join us in Langara’s Makerspace to explore Sustainability, the evolving concept of Circularity, and how emergent Maker resources can foster innovation and meaningful change. We examine how Making, Sustainability, and Circularity can work in parallel with large scale and individual action and how Makerspaces and Maker cultures (globally distributed, informal, highly networked, peer-lead, DIY communities) can help drive this change.
