What do you do in your teaching to promote long-term learning? Bring your lunch, ideas and questions and join colleagues from across the college who will share their experiences teaching for long-term learning.
Research on how humans learn tells us that true learning is what remains well after the instruction is complete. By intentionally avoiding instructional strategies or design choices that encourage cramming and surface understanding, we promote learning that will be carried on by our students far beyond our courses.
And even though memory fades, skills and transformation are long lasting.
