2016 Brightspace Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning

If you are doing something innovative in your teaching or you have a colleague who is, please consider applying or nominating them for a Brightspace Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning. After the success of Steve Musson’s nomination for a College Sector Educator’s award from the Society for  Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) (read more about Steve’s award here), The Learning and Teaching Academic Priority Action Group (APAG) is interested in hearing about faculty who have implemented “innovative approaches that promote student-centred teaching and learning.”  The STHLE  site invites applications  “from individuals with a demonstrable record of innovation(s) in areas including pedagogical approaches, teaching methods, course design, curriculum development, assessment methods, and various tools or technologies that enhance learning and have had a significant impact on post-secondary education.” You can learn more about the award here. The submission deadline is March 2nd 2016.

The Learning and Teaching APAG would be happy to help with the nomination process. Please let us know if you or your colleague is interested. Interested parties should contact Sarah Bowers at  sbowers@langara.ca.
