Department Chair & Curriculum Consultant
Shawna joined TCDC in the fall of 2018 as a Curriculum Consultant. She is keen to assist departments as they engage in the stages of curriculum development and renewal. As well, she is passionate about investigating instructors’ continuing professional development journeys.
Shawna’s love of teaching began with her EAL students in South Korea and Japan. Upon return to Canada, she taught English for Academic Purposes before moving into teacher education programs and program administration at post-secondary institutions across the Lower Mainland.
Shawna is also passionate about her own continual professional development; she recently completed the Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design from Royal Roads University and is a doctoral student in Curriculum and Learning at the Werklund School of Education in Calgary.
