Julie Longo


AVP Academic (Interim)

Julie joined Langara College as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts in 2010.  While serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, she led the collaborative initiative to create a Teaching and Curriculum Development Centre and has remained a serious TCDC supporter ever since. In fact, she briefly joined the TCDC team as a Program Review Facilitator in 2016 where she gained an even greater appreciation for the exceptional talent of the Langara faculty and staff as well as the expertise of her TCDC and EdTech colleagues. Committed to supporting faculty development, meaningful quality assurance processes, and dynamic College partnerships, Julie loves to help her colleagues and students realize their dreams and ambitions. She is honoured to be the interim Associate Vice-President Academic.

She holds a PhD in Modern American History from Wayne State University (Detroit, MI), a Master of Arts degree in American History from McMaster University (Hamilton, ON), and an Honours Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Ottawa (Ottawa, ON) in History and Communications.
