Earl Einarson
Curriculum Consultant, Indigenization Specialist
A proud member of Ktunaxa Nation (in south-east B.C.), Earl provides expertise, support, and guidance in embedding an awareness of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing into instruction and curriculum at Langara.
“My ongoing Doctorate studies and my Master’s research and paper were an exploration of the alignment/misalignment of the intersectionality of the prevailing western, Eurocentric educational approach, and Indigenous-informed ways-of-knowing and knowledge transfer, and the invitation that both approaches may be informed by the other, and the possible opportunities this intersectionality contained.”
Earl is a Social Sciences Doctorate student and holds a Master of Arts in Learning and Technology (centered on leadership in andragogical theories and technologically mediated learning), a Provincial Instructor Diploma, and a Master’s Certificate in Digital Development. Additionally, Earl has more than 25 years of experience working in adult education, including 10 in Indigenous-informed Education leadership roles.
Desiree Marshall-Peer
Curriculum Consultant, Indigenization Specialist
Desiree is Cree-Ojibway from Pine Creek, Manitoba and brings over 25 years of teaching experience at both K-12 and post-secondary levels, along with extensive experience working on ministerial initiatives. Desiree aligns with the work of the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC), coming alongside to work on multiple projects related to Indigenous curriculum creation and equity projects. Currently an Educational Doctoral Candidate, Desiree’s research and interests include Indigenization, assessment, competency-based learning, and inquiry. While her career is mostly focused on STEAM/STEM fields, she has taught across subjects and disciplines. Desiree is happy to talk to you about any questions you may have or assistance you may need.
