Lunch and Learn: Strategies for Long-term Learning

Research on how humans learn tells us that true learning is what remains well after the instruction is complete. By intentionally avoiding instructional strategies and design choices that encourage cramming and surface understanding, we promote learning that will be carried on by our students far beyond our courses. And even though memory fades, skills and transformation are long lasting. What do you do in your teaching to promote long-term learning?

In Lunch and Learn: Strategies for Long-term Learning, our guest speakers Alexandria Sowden (Psychology), Andrea Dawson (ECE), and Erfan Rezaie (Physics) will be sharing their ideas and tips for teaching for long-term learning. Bring your lunch, ideas and questions and join us on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 12:30 pm, in room C408.
