TCDC Book Club: Creating Self-Regulated Learners

Do you ever wish your students would spend just a little more time reviewing graded papers, exams, homework assignments and practice quizzes to identify and address gaps in their understanding? Would you like more of your students to be able to reflect on, monitor and assess their learning and study strategies so they can be more successful learners? Join us for this semester’s TCDC Book Club!

This fall we are diving into Linda Nilson’s Creating Self-Regulated Learners: Strategies to Strengthen Students’ Self-Awareness and Learning Skills to learn what self-regulated learning (SRL) is and how we can help our students develop and apply SRL strategies to be more successful learners.

The TCDC Book Club meets once a week and is facilitated by a curriculum consultant. Discussions focus on ways participants can implement the strategies outlined in the book into their own courses. We hope you’ll join us this fall for thought-provoking reading, delicious snacks, and great conversation about teaching and learning.
