Fall 2016 Funding Results

Thank you to everyone who applied for the Research and Scholarly Activity Fund.

We are pleased to announce the following projects will receive funding:

Receiving funding ($2032)

  • Sharon Ronaldson, Denise Thomas & Kim MacFarlane (Nursing),  – Project Title: Peer Mentorship for the Internationally Educated Nurse: An Appreciative Inquiry.

Receiving funding ($1400)

  • Kelly Sveinson (Chemistry), Paul Sunga (Health Sciences) & Kevin Craib (Maths) – Project Title:  Analysis of data from several years of measurements of active compounds in dispensary cannabis by a commercial laboratory.

Fall 2016 Internal Funding Call

Submissions are now being accepted for the fall round of internal funding for the the Research and Scholarly Activity Fund (RSA Fund).

You may apply for funding if you are requesting support to hire students, purchase equipment, perform analysis, or conduct project-oriented research.

Applications are due via email to scholarlyactivity@langara.ca by 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 15.

Please familiarize yourself with the following College policies:

Consult the Langara Research Ethics Board to ensure that ethical principles are applied if you intend to perform research involving human subjects.

Those who are new to the application process or who want to know more about the process and the qualities of a successful application are encouraged to consult the FAQ, or pose questions directly to scholarlyactivity@langara.ca.

The adjudication process may take up to four weeks.  Successful candidates will be notified soon after the process is complete.

Please complete the submission process by e-mailing your completed application form to scholarlyactivity@langara.ca by the deadline.

The RSA Fund supports various types of research and scholarly activity at Langara College. It recognizes the research and scholarship already being undertaken at the College, and provides further funding opportunities to promote and build institutional and faculty capacity. The fund is not a replacement for Education Leave funding.

The RSA Fund cannot support applications for retroactive funding.

Summer 2016 Funding Results

This is a call for proposals for the Research and Scholarly Activity Fund (RSAF).

Applications are due by 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 8.

The RSAF cannot support applications for retroactive funding.

There are typically two or three annual calls for funding competitions, with deadlines for submission typically falling in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
