F.A.Q. for Instructors

How did my course get selected for Peer Supported Learning?

We are currently piloting the Peer Supported Learning program with first year courses, which are largely chosen by our facilitators to fit into their own study schedules.

If you would like PSL to support your class and have a recommendation of a student who would be a suitable candidate as a PSL facilitator, please contact us at rlui@langara.ca!

What do I need to do to support Peer Supported Learning?

We would like to cause as minimal interruption as possible to our instructors as we truly appreciate the support and participation in our program. We ask participating instructors to:

  • Allow the facilitator to observe and follow class lessons
  • Provide the facilitator with a textbook as per need basis
  • Allow the facilitator to notify students about Peer+ Online sessions on the course web page

Can I join the Peer+ sessions?

Our Peer+ sessions are considered safe spaces where students can freely ask questions and discuss course material without feeling intimidated. As instructors have a part to play in student marks, we ask instructors not to join in on sessions.
