Navigating Difficult Conversations on Academic Integrity and Classroom Behaviour (TCDC Event)

As instructors there are times when we must initiate the topic of important, yet difficult conversations related to academic integrity and classroom behaviour with students. Recognizing our own values and expectations and having a toolkit of strategies to effectively communicate can lead to better resolutions.

Learning outcomes for this session include:

• Discuss techniques to facilitate conversations about academic integrity concerns with students
• Determine healthy boundaries to promote emotional and mental well-being for the learning community
• Consider accountability and ways to encourage accountable behaviour
• Explore ways to motivate positive student behaviour

This 2-hour session will also offer an opportunity for instructors to roleplay the suggested techniques and share real life challenges when these situations arise.
