Langara College Library initiated a strategic visioning process in September 2012 involving students, faculty, College administration and Library employees. We defined a future for the Library in which we continue our commitment to organizational excellence and the best physical spaces, and forge our distinctive edge with virtual spaces, expertise, information content and competencies that are the foundation of today’s and tomorrow’s superior academic library.
The implementation of this Strategic Plan will transform the Library from a separate support service to an integral part of the College – its academic, social, and community life. This is our primary objective and the fundamental element of our Vision for the future of the Langara College Library.
We could not have succeeded without the hard work of all Library employees, an engaged Steering Committee, a dedicated Library Planning Team, and contributions from faculty and students. Having an energetic and knowledgeable facilitator helped bring us together and drive this project forward.
The end result is an articulated vision, meaningful strategies to guide us there and a realization that our work has just begun.
