Creating Group Restricted Assignment Submission Folders

You can create assignment submission folders for your groups when they are created, or at any time afterwards by selecting Set Up Assignment submission Folder from the Additional Options: Create Workspace list.

When you create a submission folder through the groups tool, a shared folder will be created for each of the groups in the category.

  1. Under Additional Options, select Set up Assignment submission Folder and click Create (new Category) or Save (existing category). You will be taken to the Create Assignment submission Folders page to create the associated assignment folder.

  1. Enter a name for your Submission folder.
  2. Click New Grade Item.
  3. A new box will open for you to create the grade column for this item. Give the column a name and a description if you wish.
  4. Fill in the maximum points for the assignment and the percentage it contributes to the final mark or the category. Note:  You can change these settings later through Grades.
  5. Click Save. You will return to the Create Assignment submission Folders page.
  6. Enter how much the assignment is graded out of in the Out Of box.

  7. Click Create. You will be taken to a Workspace Summary that shows the number of groups created (new category) and the dropbox folders created.
  8. Click Done. You are returned to the Edit Category page.  You should see a link for your new assignment submission.
